It’s time for us to meet the lead creative mind behind TRANSFORMERS The Ride.  This is part one of a two-part interview with Mr. Thierry Coup.

Thierry is Senior Vice President of Universal Creative – the planning and development division of UniversalParksand Resorts – and is the executive leading creative development activities for upcoming attractions off all Universal theme parks world-wide.

One of Thierry’s current responsibilities is leading the creative team responsible for developing TRANSFORMERS The Ride at both Universal Studios Singapore and Universal Studios Hollywood.

Thierry joined Universal Creative more than a decade ago and has played an integral role in shaping the award-winning rides and attractions at Universal’s theme parks worldwide. He was the Creative Director for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter featuring the most innovative theme park ride ever — Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Other attractions to his credit include, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Shrek 4D, The Revenge of the Mummy and King Kong 360 3-D.

When asked about the ride experience guests can expect, Thierry said:

“The technology at TRANSFORMERS The Ride is something the world has never experienced before in an attraction. The motion base simulator system integrated into the ride vehicle is state-of-the-art, together with ILM photo-realistic 3-D projections, will create an experience that is going to be a thrilling breakthrough in ride experience.”

Prior to his work in theme park and attraction development, Thierry worked in the film and TV commercial industries, creating visual effects and stop-motion animation for movies ranging from the Oscar-winning “Total Recall,” to “Gremlins” and TV commercials for many of the world’s iconic brands.
